Process of making: Each item is made one at a time with much love and care. The making of ceramics has a lot of stages. First clay gets its form on the potter's wheel, the piece is let to slowly dry a few days, then it is trimmed, and any imperfections are retouched. At this stage, for some pieces, I do surface decoration techniques like mishima, sgraffito or carving and then it finally goes into the kiln. It is fired at 1000 degree celcius (1900 Fahrenheit). After first firing it is ready to glaze. After the glaze has dried it is fired again at 1150 degree celcius (2100 Fahrenheit). After another 19-20 hours of firing and cooling, it is ready! Since each piece is handmade every piece is unique in itself :)
